Carers Wellness and Information Event

We are delighted to be holding a Carers Wellness and Information Event!

When: Friday 17th April 2026
Where: Cromer Parish Hall, 65 Church St, Cromer NR27 9HH 
Time: 10.30am-2.30pm- It’s a drop in event so please come at a time that suits you.

We welcome all unpaid Carers and the people they are caring for to attend the event.

Unpaid Carers can access FREE wellness sessions including:
* Indian Head Massage
*Hand and Foot Massage
*Facial Reflexology
As well as:
*Taster physical activities
*Free goody bag to take home
* Free refreshments including cake from About with Friends!

Who will be there?

Active Norfolk

Active Norfolk are the Active Partnership for Norfolk, one of a network of 43 Active Partnerships created by Sport England. We are hosted by Norfolk County Council. Their role is to provide a strategic approach to the development of sport and physical activity in Norfolk. Their work aims to support Norfolk residents to lead healthy and active lifestyles.

Age UK Norfolk

Age UK Norfolk is a registered charity providing support, advice and community services to older people in Norfolk. They exist to improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, and promote independence. Services include an Information and Advice helpline, benefits checks and Money MOT, Advocacy services , digital and Companionship Services.

Cavell Healthcare

Cavell Healthcare is a provider of domiciliary and care services in East Anglia, offering expert home care in Norwich, Cromer, and Lowestoft. They offer a comprehensive range of services to enable you to remain at home, living life the way you choose, irrespective of your personal or medical needs.

Community Action Norfolk

Community Action Norfolk is the lead provider for Norfolk County Council's promoting independence programme in partnership with Future Projects, Citizens Advice Dereham and Thetford and Age Uk Norfolk; providing proactive interventions and sign posting for people over 50 in Norfolk to maximise independence and reduce the risk of falls with a focus on ageing well.

Cromer Cares Charity

They provide assistance to households experiencing difficulties with access to medical appointments and due to economic hardship, ill health or crisis. They have a team which transports patients to medical appointments. They also provide household essentials, white goods and food vouchers.

Cromer Hospital Carers Cafe

Meets 1st Wednesday of the month in Mardle Cafe within Cromer Hospital. Provides information, support and outings. Hosts other organisations supportive of Carers and provides opportunity to share.

Alzheimers Logo Desktop

Dementia Support Service

The Dementia Service in Norfolk and Waveney support anyone affected by dementia; a person diagnosed, partner, family member or Carer. Their main role is to provide information, advice and support with any aspects of a dementia condition including to a person who has been pre diagnosed with a memory problem by their GP who is waiting for a Memory Assessment.

Healthwatch-Norfolk

Healthwatch Norfolk

Healthwatch Norfolk is the local health and social care champion for the County. They ensure NHS leaders and other decision makers hear your voice and use patient, Carer and community feedback to improve care. They can also help people to find reliable and trustworthy information and advice. Your feedback is used to better understand the challenges facing the NHS and other care providers and your experiences can help improve health and care for everyone.

MSK Service

The service consists of highly skilled and experienced physiotherapists who work alongside specialist podiatrists and occupational therapists to provide accessible, high quality and efficient rehabilitation services for NHS patients in Norfolk and Waveney.

Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital

The Norfolk and Norwich Hospital Patient Experience team work to support unpaid Carers in their hospitals to ensure that everyone receives the best care possible.

Norfolk Community Law Service

Norfolk Community Law Service (NCLS) is a charity providing free, independent and confidential legal advice for people in Norfolk. They aim to provide access to justice and equality, and particularly target their services at disadvantaged and vulnerable groups. Their specialist services include: - Debt Advice Service - Family Service (including Domestic Abuse and Family Court Support) - Free Legal Advice Service (15 minutes of pro bono solicitor advice on employment, family or general matters) - Immigration Advice Service - Welfare Rights Appeals and Representation Service (support with benefit tribunals)

Norfolk County Council- Community Development

Norfolk County Council Community and Information Development Workers work with partners to improve wellbeing and reduce isolation, help people access information, services, and opportunities, build relationships with residents, groups, and organisations and support local initiatives and strengthen community networks

Norfolk County Council- Integrated Care Co-Ordinators

An Integrated Care Co-ordinator (ICC) helps to bridge the gap between health, social care, community and voluntary services. They can help you improve independence and take control of your own health and wellbeing by speaking about what matters the most to you.

Norfolk County Council- Carers Assessor

A Carers Assessment is your opportunity to talk to a member of Adult Social Services staff or Carers Matter Norfolk staff about your role as a Carer and what you do as a Carer, including what you think about the caring you do now and what you think may happen in the future.

Reed Wellbeing - Smokefree Norfolk and NHS Health Checks

Reed Wellbeing is the trusted provider, commissioned and funded by Norfolk County Council to deliver both the Smokefree Norfolk service and the NHS Health Checks programme. These services are offered completely free of charge to residents across Norfolk, ensuring equitable access to high‑quality health and wellbeing support.

Talking Therapies

Norfolk and Waveney Talking Therapies provide a range of support for people with common mental health and emotional issues, such as low mood, depression, or stress. We work with you to help you make the necessary changes to improve your wellbeing and quality of life.

Tech Skills for Life

The friendly Community Tech Coaches can help you access laptops, tablets and internet data, and can give advice about affordable broadband. They can also teach you skills that will make technology easier to use and give you the confidence to use the internet safely.

Young Carers Matter- Benjamin Foundation

The Benjamin Foundation, in partnership with Carers Matter Norfolk, supports Young Carers and their families. They work alongside schools and community groups to identify and further support Young Carers.
