  • Represent Carers at events and meetings

  • Relay any feedback to Carers Voice about what is working well and what needs improving

  • Feedback progress to Carers

Who are the Carers  Ambassadors?

We have a number of wonderful Carers Ambassadors within Carers Voice.

  • They have personal lived in experience of caring
  • They recognise the value of Carers being involved in Services
  • They are members of Carers Voice Norfolk & Waveney
  • They regularly contribute to the development and design of Service used by Carers within health and social care
  • Their experience means they are linked in and familiar with services for Carers across the County

Here is Joy, one of our Carers Ambassadors sharing her top helpful tips for Carers!

And here is Joy talking openly about a subject that perhaps isn’t talked about enough.

Tibenham Think Carers Review. Tackling Rural Loneliness and Isolation.

Thursday 24th March at Tibenham Community Hall

This Thursday  I represented Carers Voice and Carers Matter Norfolk at the Think Carers Review at Tibenham.

Tibenham is a pretty little village in South Norfolk with a great Community Hall and a great Community Spirit. They are committed to the needs of folk who may have needs or are isolated and various groups like Carers Voice / Matter were represented, for example, NCC, Well Being Norfolk, Age Concern, Assistive Technology representatives.

While we were there to support and offer information, we also learned a very great deal about how folk manage in a beautiful village with no Doctors Surgery, shop or transport (or indeed a pub).Peoples’ lives have been transformed by the many activities available at the Community Hall from Coffee Mornings and lunches to get fit and various shows and productions. What came through was the great need which is being met by love and service offered by volunteers including the fun generated by organisers and participants alike. It showed how important Community is, how lives are truly changed when friendships are made and problems shared.

So each representative spoke very briefly explaining how their group might be able to assist and answered questions from the folk having coffee. So coffee and meeting over, we were treated to a home made soup and sandwich lunch – thank you Tibenham.
