Learning Sessions for Carers
We have been working with ICB Clinical Education Team who are organising free online learning opportunities for Carers and volunteers in Norfolk and Waveney. The sessions are based on topics Carers said they would like to find out more about. Dates of upcoming sessions:
- Discharge from hospital, navigating the system: 23 September 2025 – 1-2pm. This session is presented by a nurse from the Integrated Discharge Team and will included what to expect when the person you are caring for is discharged from hospital and how to access services.
- Reablement – maintaining independence and confidence: 4 November 2025 – 1-2pm. This session is presented by an occupational therapist and will include how to help the person you are caring for retain or regain the skills and confidence to manage their daily life and to maintain their independence.

Drinking well: Caring for older adults – this session is presented by an Associate Professor of Nursing Research and will include how to ensure older adults maintain adequate hydration and how to prevent dehydration.
Spotting and Treating Malnutrition: a guide for Carers and Volunteers– this session is presented by dieticians and will include how to recognise poor nutrition and advice on treatment.
Moving with dignity– This session is presented by an occupational therapist and will include how to support the person you are caring for to move with limited risk, maintain their independence and use of appliances/resources when required.
