What Is Co-Production?
Co-production is not just a word, it is not just a concept, it is a meeting of minds coming together to find shared solutions. In practice, co-production involves people who use services being consulted, included and working together from the start to the end of any project that affects them. When co-production works best, people who use services and Carers are valued by organisations as equal partners, can share power and have influence over decisions made.
Carers Voice & Co-Production
Carers experiences, insights, and feedback shape every aspect of our work. From the very beginning, our projects are co-produced with Carers to ensure they reflect the real needs of Carers.
But we don’t stop there. Our Carer-led approach influences wider systems. By working in co-production we can create systemwide change that improves recognition, support, and outcomes for all Carers. Not only do we respond to the needs of Carers — together we’re reshaping the way services and policies work for them.
Carers Voice Projects
All Age Carers Strategy
Work started on the Strategy following a co-produced Carers Engagement Report. Building on the evidence base provided by extensive research with Carers, Carers Voice worked with Carers and partners across health and social care to co-produce the All Age Carers for Norfolk and Waveney. The Strategy was endorsed by the Integrated Care Partnership and Carers are key partners in its implementation.
Carers Hospital Booklet
The Carers Hospital Booklet was conceived as a result of feedback shared by Carers about the difficulties with the discharge process including lack of communication and Carer involvement. As well as being initiated by co-production, the booklet was co-produced and meetings chaired by a Carers Ambassador. The booklet is being piloted in the West Norfolk.
All Age Carers Handbook
The all age Carers Handbook project began from feedback that Carers wanted a booklet as there ‘go to’ publication when they need quick information in a printed format. Co-production took place throughout the development of the Handbook.
Carers Identity Passport
Carers told us that they were not being recognised in healthcare settings. The Carers Identity Passport was co-produced with Carers and staff across the Integrated Health and Care System to ensure unpaid Carers are identified and recognised in healthcare settings and could have their voice heard.
